The Royal- Playa Del Carmen A+
I LOVED this resort. This was our first all inclusive and it was amazing. This resort gets great reviews on TripAdvisor and it was adults only which was a bonus for us. It is located right on the beach and within walking distance of 5th avenue which is a large shopping district. We had a private check-in with a romance concierge which was awesome. It was so nice to have a private room for check-in instead of being in the busy main lobby. The room was beautiful! We booked the Royal Jr. Suite which was the standard room and it was perfect. We still had a small view of the ocean from our balcony. The tub in the pictures is a two seat jacuzzi. We had our own private jacuzzi in our room! We definitely took advantage of it. The room was large and comfy and I loved the hammock on the balcony.
The resort had a large pool and beautiful beach. Plenty of chairs to lounge in by the pool and the beach. They also had daybeds which were nice for napping without fear of sunburn. The swimup bar and waitstaff by the beach and pool was a perk as well.
There were several restaurants and all had amazing food. All of the restaurants had good service and food presentation. I enjoyed some of my meals here better than my meal at Olives in Bellagio. That's saying a lot for me since I'm a bit of a food snob. They also had a sister resort next door and we were allowed to eat at their restaurants as well. Our drink glasses were never empty during meals, and there were ample bars for getting drinks while roaming the resort.
I would certainly return to this resort. The service was excellent and the location couldn't be beat! If you're looking for a romantic, relaxing, and beautiful spot for a honeymoon, consider this resort!
